B.R. Palmer built Shamper’s Wharf Lighthouse on the Saint John River in 1913 for $1,049. Located atop a bluff near the entrance to Belleisle Bay, the tower employed a sixth-order lens to beam forth a fixed white light. The light was discontinued in 1961 and sold to a private owner. After standing neglected for years, the tower was burned to the ground in 2000.
Keepers: B. Hazen (1913 – at least 1923).
